Meridith-Dunbar Musical
Directors-
Sandy Mayes, Theatre Arts Director
Claire Copeland, Music Director
The Meridith musical was the Aristocats. It was wonderfully entertaining and beautifully sung. The students (now mostly 2nd and 3rd graders) performed like the 5th graders have in years past. It was hard to believe that they were not 5th graders. This was truly a delight for all to see and hear. A special thanks to Ms. Mayes and Mrs. Copeland for their very hard work and for their willingness to give, year after year, their time, talents, and great teaching skills to the students of Meridith-Dunbar.
To Sandy Mayes
I must take time to give a special salute to one of my staff members that is retiring. She is near and dear to many of us including students and fellow teachers. Sandy’s dedication of 36 years to music and theatre students is a true blessing of talent on those that she touched. She is a hero to many of us that know her. She has always stood for integrity, outstanding quality, great dedication, and success for all. Sandy Mayes will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
She will not be formally teaching but we will still have her leading workshops, being a clinician in theatre and music, accompanying, chaperoning, and enjoying students and the learning process. (All of this after a cruise or two!)
Our hats off to you, Ms. Mayes! The show must go on but it will never be the same without you!
